A metal band played, they had the Austin Princess in the background…haha…haha…so tough

This is gold, solid gold – George Barris constructed a custom vehicle for the movie “Super Van.” Starting with a stock Dodge Sportsman Van, design concepts and work began. The 318 cubic inch engine and automatic transmission were left intact, but from that point on the van underwent drastic changes and is, without a doubt, the ultimate example of futuristic motoring 70′s style. – even has George Barris and Charles Bukowski showing up on set…

Scotty Vakos, stolen from Pink Crack Kills, smithers somewhere in confederate land? Finally worn the sharpe edges off those soles and taken about 10mm off the wheels since NZ.

Well it is if you are in the states like our mate Jeff. I finally got a chance to reply to a few emails today and Jeff and I got to back and forthing about cars in the US and he passed on some great shots.
These first few shots are of some Canadians that parked outside his front door on route to a show.

This lot of shots are from the Brooklyn Rumbler Show in 08, I like the jackets these guys are rocking oh and some nice rides parked around the place. Looks like a good get together- just set up under a bridge and talk some shit with a brew in hand… bring on summer eh.

Cheers Jeff for sharing, when you get back to nz you will get used to the sight of skylines parking up on your door step.

I’ve been known to spend too much time looking at other peoples internet ramblings and not enough sharing of what I find and seek. I feel it is probably time to open up the bookmarks, and there isn’t too much of a better place to start than the Lowtech blog, this Swede really know whats going on.

My mate Max was over from the U.S. and we did a road trip around the North Island of NZ. On our way past National park at the base of Mt Ruapehu we were transfixed with the alluring colour of rust and we found stacks of old wrecks. So we doubled back and found ‘Smash Palace’, where the 70′s NZ film was filmed. This place i’m sure has been raided by rodders and restorers over the years but the below pics will give you an idea of what is amongst the many paddocks at this historic wrecking yard.
