Bad Ass Bombas

Stole these pics from some where? Lowriding started in the states and they sure do build such quality cars… you see nice lowriders in NZ but never Bombas to this calibre, we hope to see some in NZ shores….get in contact send some pics..prove us wrong. NZ new four doors are still around and are affordable. I know where a 39′ all original is stashed in a barn….maybe one day the dream will come true and ‘Barn Find Bomb’ will cruise the avenues…? Along with  a 52 pickup, 49-51 Fleetline, 59 El Camino…….. dream away

Big D’s Grandad

Big D showed me some cool old pics of his Grand Father and his bikes from the 30′s and 50′s. Some fun missions camping out around NZ. The Lewis Pass when it was just a single lane gravel road.  Would love to see our countryback then, so simple and less un molestered!

Ophy’s 54 & Ratty’s 62

For months i’ve been wanting to get down south to Winton and Invercargill to catch up with my mates and get pics of Ophy’s 54 Chevy. Finally I got the chance with a work trip and I made the extra couple of hour drive to see the boys. Ophy is mean with a welder but not so hot with digital technology so going down was the only way I could get some pics of his Chevy on Committed Few. I dropped in and found Jake working hard on his 56 Ranch wagon with major mods being made to the chassis such as 8 inch notch, z’d front all the inner guards raised… will be sick. Jake took me to Ophy and Toms workshop where Ophy had his 54 ready for some shots and a bonus was to meet Ratty and see his 62 Fairlane Coupe…a super clean car! The 54 is NZ new and a black plater, old school lowered with bad ass matt black scallops, visor and dummy spots sitting sweet on 15 inch cokers and chromes. Stock 6 and trans for the running gear. With style like this Ophy will have a fat as moustache, wife beater and heaps of tatts before we know it. Ophy is also working on a Model A pick up with hand made chassis, will be a bad boy for sure! We went for a cruise around Invers in Ratty’s 62. Really nice inside and out. The little 223 really had some suprising kick. These boys down south are young and are hardcore and have the style we at Committed Few love when it comes to building and driving cars. Watch out for the Black Plate Lurkers Winton and ChCh chapters!

Show n Skate

The past weekend was an epic weekend for skateboarding in CHCH with the NZ sk8 nationals being hosted at Washington skatepark. CHCH had an awesome turnout from skaters from all round NZ. Some sick bowl sessions went down on the warm Friday night and our Show n Skate on Saturday at Thompson Park. Unfortunatley the easterly was humming so not as many cars showed as expected due to the question ‘is it on still?’ heaps of crew rolled out after the qualifiing rounds at Washington and braved the cold temps so all went well considering. we met heaps of super nice people from all round the country and the bowl had never been seshed so hard. We are stoked! Talked cars and motorbikes with other like minded skaters and we can’t wait to to do another event and hope for sun and heat.

Huge thanks to Mark from Das Vintage Werks for finishing his 56 Barndoor fire truck in time for the event so we could have the sounds inside. 1week to slam, re paint, hand sign write the doors!  Phil from Metal Spinning specialists for bringing out the BBQ and cooking the snags.

Cheers for all the crew that came, Campbell and Jay for rounding skaters up and Jimmy and Doug representing Brighton and the locals cleaning up all the smashed glass in the bottom of the bowl. ( take your empties with you!) Justin Keeley below was shredding hard and so were Dave North, Trev, Campbell, Hutchy and heaps of crew. too many to mention.

Come along next year it will be warm hopefully!?
