Jocks 1200

Jock is one of my oldest mates. I remember his unwarranted Mk1 Escort that we used to burn around the backstreets of Burwood when we were 12 years old. We’ve had some great times, alot involving cars.

It has been some time since Jock has owned an old car and he has had some minters in his time. Jock had been hunting a pre 67 VW for a long time when he called me about this one. It was a great decision to buy this 1960 Volkswagen Beetle 1200 unseen. It was purchased new in Nelson and the original owner passed it down to her daughter in 84′. She was getting old and Jock snuck in there and got it for a song. Everytime I see this car I get so stoked on it, just how OG it is. Black plates for one, its straight as, fuck all rust. The interior is in awesome used condition so not too many worries if Annabelle or Libby drop their popsickle and the little 1200 runs like a dream. The 54′ head lights aren’t original but definately more valuable. Jock converted it to 12v and the metric nut supplied the 3″ narrowed beam and dropped the front. The back well, we dropped it some more before taking some pics. Now he’s got a super rad little cruiser, and I forgot how little these cars are until I jumped in. The best thing is the complaints from the purist VW nerds that don’t like slamming og’s! Get a grip who would drive a stock height beetle? Thats right the Granny who owned it previously. Just relax it is so simple to return to factory with all original beam etc put aside. Well good shit Jock your dub is cool!

Carnales 46

Kenny from the Carnales Lowrider Club got in touch with us. These guys are based up north in NZ and look to be rolling some fine bombs. This is Kennys’ 46 below. So good to see some crew in NZ really into Vintage lowriding. We look forward to profiling the Carnales and their cars in the future on Committed Few! Until then check out their link. Carnales NZ

Port City Rumble 2010

Our mate Scott Vakos recently attended the annual Port City Rumble which is hosted by the local club the Maulers. The Rumble takes place on the East Coast of the States in Wilmington North Carolina. We have posted pics of this show in the past, and Scotty sent through the below. Looks like a sweet local event with the street blocked off to bad ass cars and bikes, bands, beer and food. What more could you want… We’ll get over there some day. Its awesome to see such cool shit coming out of the dirty south of the states. We are so fortunate to have good mates over in the U.S. that send us fresh content for you to see often with in days of the event happening. Cheers Scotty
